Nokwethemba Mtshali
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
Dr. Ntombifikile Mtshali (MD, MBA) is a leading figure in healthcare innovation, currently serving as the CEO of Shout-It-Now, a South African non-profit delivering youth-friendly HIV prevention and reproductive health services in Gauteng and North West provinces. A non-executive board member of the South African Medical Association, a medical doctor and an MBA graduate from Wits Business School, Dr. Mtshali combines clinical expertise with strategic business acumen.
Having earned her MBChB at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2007, Dr. Mtshali brings over a decade of experience in private and public healthcare. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from CETAD, University of Lancaster, UK, and has pursued continuous learning, including seminars with Harvard University and the Centre for Creative Leadership.
Dr. Mtshali’s commitment to accessible healthcare is evident in her advocacy for women’s reproductive health rights. As the former CEO of Bertha Gxowa Hospital, Dr. Mtshali’s efforts to improve women’s and girls’ access to care has earned her recognition and Dr. Mtshali was named one of the Top 200 young South Africans by the Mail and Guardian in 2017. Her achievements include overseeing a multi-million dollar grant for The Aurum Institute, focusing on HIV/TB response in South Africa.
As Shout-It-Now’s CEO, Dr. Mtshali leads in modernizing HIV and gender-based violence prevention services, with a focus on youth in Gauteng and North-West provinces. She also serves as Chairperson of the CHABAHIVA Trust Board and contributes to community development as a hospital member at Edenvale Hospital.
Despite her demanding schedule, Dr. Mtshali remains connected to her passion for patient care, working as a sessional medical officer. Beyond healthcare, she is a dedicated mother and enjoys honing her piano skills and perfecting her golf swing, showcasing a well-rounded and accomplished professional.
JOSHILA HARI
Joshila Hari, a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), graduated in Accountancy from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999, passing Part 1 & 2 Board (SAICA) in 2001 and 2002. A proud member of SAICA and IODSA, she combines academic excellence with significant professional achievements.
As Shout-It-Now’s CFO, Joshila ensures sound financial governance, overseeing financial management, policies, and accountability standards. Entrusted with developing and executing financial strategies aligned with DREAMS ambitions, she prioritizes budget controls and risk management with the finance team.
Beyond financial planning, Joshila ensures compliance, accurate reporting, and offers key insights to the leadership team, significantly contributing to Shout-It-Now‘s financial health. Her expertise underscores the CFO’s critical role in fostering organizational well-being.
Previously, as Regional Director: Finance at Aurum Institute NPC and CFO at the Aurum affiliates (Aurum Innova (Pty) Ltd, Youth Health Africa NPC, Global Health Innovations (Pty) Ltd and Chaps NPC), Joshila excelled in managing financial functions, developing fiscal strategies, and optimizing processes. Her career includes pivotal roles at Deloitte and Touché, and Primedia Limited, showcasing leadership and financial acumen driving organizational success.
DR NOMCEBO NENE
Dr. Nene is a seasoned medical professional with over a decade of experience in HIV/AIDS and public health. She excels in program implementation and management, with a strong background in multi-stakeholder coordination, including USG donors, the South African Government, and community-based organizations. Dr. Nene’s expertise lies in Vertical Transmission Prevention, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), as well as HIV Prevention, Care & Treatment for children and adolescents. She is also adept at project monitoring and evaluation, implementation research, and Quality Improvement. In her previous role, Dr Nene served as the Paediatrics Lead at Anova Health Institute, overseeing HIV and TB care and treatment initiatives for all demographics in the City of Johannesburg Health District. Dr. Nene holds a medical degree (MBBCh) from Witwatersrand University, along with a postgraduate Diploma in HIV management from the College of Medicine SA (CMSA) and a Business and Management Certificate from the Gordon’s Institute of Business School. She is currently pursuing an Advanced Certificate in M&E with the Foundation for Professional Development.
LILLIAN MONJI
As the Head of People Operations (POPS), Lilian spearheads positioning Shout as the employer of choice through creating a positive employee experience and retention as well facilitating an engaged and productive culture. Further, she leads the creation and implementation of the POPS strategy.
Lilian holds an MBA from the University of Witswatersrand Business School and has a BCom Honours, majoring in Human Resources Management and Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Currently, Lilian is pursuing a professional executive coaching course.
With more than 13 years’ experience in human resources, cutting across various industries and in the last 9 years being in public health and the recent 3 years in a senior executive management position, She is committed in her support and guidance of employees, and she appreciates that human capital is a company’s prime asset.
In the past year, Lilian has provided strategic and operations support to Mozambique, Ghana country offices, as well as the Aurum group affiliates and supporting the growth and sustainability of the organization through its Business Development unit.
NELLISIWE CHIZUNI
Nellisiwe has over 9 years of monitoring and evaluation experience in the public health and disaster relief and recovery sector both in Africa and North America. She has worked in the HIV prevention space with key populations for 4 years, where she participated in the development high frequency reporting. She has been involved in developing a blended training on leadership for nurses managing rural health facilities and this was adopted by the General Nursing Council of Zambia as part of continuous professional development. She is passionate about sharing her love for the using data for decision-making with anyone. She has mentored individuals in Zambia, who are starting in the M&E sector on how the data they are producing can be used to make decisions that will give the desired results.
Nellisiwe holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management and a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Zambia. She also holds a certificate in Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation, and certification in Data to Policy
PAUL POTSANE
Paul has over 9 years’ experience in developing organizational workplans, strategies, operational plans, and research projects to achieve UNAIDS 90-90-90 and the Department of Health Strategic Objective (NSP) for HIV and TB programs. His expertise lies in coordinating diverse teams and resources to achieve organizational objectives within the triple constraints of time, cost, and scope.
He holds a BCUR degree, an MBA (Health Management) degree, and an MPH degree and he is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Johannesburg School of Health Sciences. Currently, he serves on the boards of the Muslim Aids Programme, the Johannesburg Council for People with Disabilities, and the Gauteng Nurses Leadership Forum. He received the Mail and Guardian‘s top 200 young South Africans award in 2018 and the Gauteng Premier’s Award in 2019.
The core of his passion is developing digital health strategies for expanding healthcare to key populations and achieving sustainable development goals 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 and 16.
ZONJA PENZHORN
Zonja has over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and has developed communication strategies that promote growth for both profit and non-profit organizations. She is a highly skilled marketing executive with a track record of implementing successful strategic brand and communication strategies, as well as providing strong leadership in various sectors and regions across Africa. Zonja has expertise in developing targeted communication initiatives through an in-depth understanding of the audience, using entrepreneurial approaches to deliver relatable community-based activities. Her responsibilities include collaborative development and implementation of a tested communication strategy driving positive behaviour change. Creating and delivering sustainable measurable communication applied to a variety of channels within a curated communications ecosystem, leveraging social and cultural trends applicable to the focus audience in order to generate demand and ultimately peer to peer advocacy.
WILLIAM TAYLOR
William has more than 10 years Operations and 25 years Information Technology Experience. He joined Shout-It-Now in 2011 as IT Manager and later took over as Head of Operations. William uses his IT background and Operational Research knowledge to be innovative in developing ways to services our clients. He uses Simulation software and data to drive decision making in his department. He is known for building and developing high performance teams. He was previously IT Manager for a multinational company and managed multiple projects during his time there. Reputed for developing and accomplishing project strategies by identifying and resolving project constraints, resulting in continuous on-time and on-budget delivery. He has proven evidence of achieving objectives, KPIs and continuous improvements to drive operations to the following organisational growth phase. William, as always, developed new ways of doing things and has previously been the first person to setup a unique way with email on dial up system for companies in South Africa. He has helped design and implement the original biometrics services for tracking of clients, counseling using online systems, and audio recordings of client sessions for audit purposes at Shout-It-Now.
