Dr. Ntombifikile Mtshali
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
Dr. Ntombifikile Mtshali (MD, MBA) is a leading figure in healthcare innovation, currently serving as the CEO of Shout-It-Now, a South African non-profit delivering youth-friendly HIV prevention and reproductive health services in Gauteng and North West provinces. A non-executive board member of the South African Medical Association, a medical doctor and an MBA graduate from Wits Business School, Dr. Mtshali combines clinical expertise with strategic business acumen.
Having earned her MBChB at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2007, Dr. Mtshali brings over a decade of experience in private and public healthcare. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from CETAD, University of Lancaster, UK, and has pursued continuous learning, including seminars with Harvard University and the Centre for Creative Leadership.
Dr. Mtshali’s commitment to accessible healthcare is evident in her advocacy for women’s reproductive health rights. As the former CEO of Bertha Gxowa Hospital, Dr. Mtshali’s efforts to improve women’s and girls’ access to care has earned her recognition and Dr. Mtshali was named one of the Top 200 young South Africans by the Mail and Guardian in 2017. Her achievements include overseeing a multi-million dollar grant for The Aurum Institute, focusing on HIV/TB response in South Africa.
As Shout-It-Now’s CEO, Dr. Mtshali leads in modernizing HIV and gender-based violence prevention services, with a focus on youth in Gauteng and North-West provinces. She also serves as Chairperson of the CHABAHIVA Trust Board and contributes to community development as a hospital member at Edenvale Hospital.
Despite her demanding schedule, Dr. Mtshali remains connected to her passion for patient care, working as a sessional medical officer. Beyond healthcare, she is a dedicated mother and enjoys honing her piano skills and perfecting her golf swing, showcasing a well-rounded and accomplished professional.
